New Year: New Trends

While it's been a crazy year for everyone and everything, fashion is no different.

As comfortable as I got in my matching tye dye joggers, I am so ready to dive right in to the top 2021 fashion trends in the biggest way possible.

Who knew we'd be styling face masks and ditching the lipstick last year - if 2020 taught us anything, its that we cannot predict the future - but we can predict some fashion trends!

Large and in-charge blazers, bold blue bags, and sleek face masks dominated Fashion Weeks over the last few weeks. We've picked a few of our favorite trends to share with you & show you ways to style them with items here at the shop. 2021 is shaping up to be a pretty damn stylish year.

#1. Face Masks.... Duh

No surprise here, the biggest accessory trend of 2021 will be masks. The more you like the mask you've got, the easier to commit to wearing it. I have found it easiest to buy black face masks in bulk and wash em each week - but I have seen some amazing masks featuring fun prints, textures & even embellishments. In Simplicity we have added some great face mask accessories including head bands that save your ears from the rub - and mask chains so you never misplace it.

#2. Head Scarves

Taking inspiration from the 50s & 60s, this trend is coming back in a big way. Headscarves are an easy way to elevate your look and add a finishing touch to your outfit without overdoing it- or maybe being super extra. Whichever you choose to believe is fine with us- but it's been a fun trend to play with and the possibilities are endless. Mix it up by tying a silk scarf around your handbag, though your belt loops or around your ponytail. Channeling your inner Grace Kelly has never been easier. Nicole had so much fun playing around with this trend.

#2 Pastel Tones

These pastel tones have just been dominating this year. Sorbet colors are a perfect option to bring you through the spring and summer and are so flattering on just about every single skin tone. Mint green & soft lavender seem to be on the top of the list. We styled this cotton Coach trench coat, and paired it with a beautiful watercolor kate spade scarf and are becoming more and more obsessed with this trend.

#3 Bright Blue Accessories

An easy way to elevate a monochrome outfit is to accessorize with a pop of color. This bright blue will pop best against outfits containing all black, white or gray. Mix and match your accessories to discover a new favorite way to style your favorite pieces.

#4 Yellow & Camel Color Combo

Super subtle yet so flattering. Yellow always seems to be the hardest color to style but this year I am loving the simplicity of this trend. Taken from the '70s and reinvented mixing and matching these shades will add depth and dimension to your outfit no matter the clothes you choose to wear. Super simple - super hot.

#5 Yellow Handbags

Another trend containing yellow-  (perhaps so much yellow this year to brighten the mood).. I hope it works. This season yellow bags have taken over the runway and the streets. Endless shades to choose from and endless ways to style.
